Hyderabad Students Lead Forest Protest: Shenaz Treasury Applauds Their Courage

Actor, travel influencer, and environmental advocate Shenaz Treasury recently took out to social media to shine a bright light on a much heartbreaking event—

the silent erasure of 400 acres of forest in Hyderabad, a rich home to precious wildlife like leopards, deer, peacocks and much more..

But amid the deep devastation, a strong hope emerged in the form of student-led activism.

The Tragedy:

Over a very long weekend, without even public knowledge or consent, 400 acres of rich biodiversity were cleared away in Hyderabad to make way for some IT parks. The destruction displaced countless animals, leaving the injured deer and crying peacocks far behind.

Shenaz described it as a “goosebump-inducing,” highly condemning the destruction carried out under the guise of “development”—a word that she now says she's come to deep hate.

The Protest That Changed Everything:

But hope wasn't completely lost. Students from Hyderabad University highly refused to stay silent. They organized heavy protests, stood their ground, and fought deep to save what remained.

Their courage and persistence had caught the attention of the Supreme Court, thus proving that grassroots activism still somewhat has the power to drive the real change.

In her much heartfelt post, Shenaz emphasized that true progress doesn't come at the cost of nature. She deeply praised the students for setting a courageous example of what bravery actually looks like in an action and called on all citizens to speak up for what actually matters: protecting our forests, wildlife, and the future generations.
