Pondicherry, also known as Puducherry, is a Union Territory of India located on the southeastern coast. Puducherry is an attractive city known for its rich French colonial legacy, attractive buildings, lively people, delicious food, and amazing beaches. Day 1:
Aurobindo Ashram: One of the most beautiful tourist destinations to visit on your Pondicherry tour, Sri Aurobindo Ashram is a kind of place where you can seek spirituality in a set-back atmosphere and attain inner peace by meditating in its calm environment.
Manakula Temple: Being more than 500 years old, it has a notable history and is one of the oldest temples in the region. The temple takes its name from two Tamil words Manal meaning 'sand' and Kulam meaning 'pond near the sea'. The temple was known by the name Manal Kulathu Vinayagar earlier.
Airkamedu: It is a famous archaeological site and a very adventure once you start to visit. The word ‘Arikamedu' in Tamil refers to ‘eroding mount' and at first it served as a fishing port before being transformed into a harbor town. Currently, all that remains of this once-busy trading hub are some bricks, old structures, and a few columns.
Rock Beach: Rock Beach is regarded as one of the most attractive sightseeing places in Pondicherry. This beach is situated on the busy streets of Pondicherry. In the evening, a lot of activities take place on the beach which makes the place even more interesting. It is surrounded by restaurants and art galleries, and the famous French war memorial is just 0.4 km away from the beach. To get a sunrise view, many people book a hotel near the rock beach.
Day 2:
Auroville: it is a small town 6 km north of Pondicherry. Auroville is an international town, that believes in one god and worship. Apart from this, Matrimandir, Inukshuk Marking at Auroville, Tibetan Centre, and beaches are some tourist attractions.
Serenity Beach: It is the only beach in Pondicherry with mesmerizing white sands on one side and a rocky stretch along the other side. The Serenity beach is always anchored with fishermen's boats and other gear all along the coast. Also, it offers a scenic view in the evening.
Day 3:
Chidambaram Temple: it is one of the oldest temples of India and is dedicated to Lord Natrajan.it is known for its wonderful architecture and internal design. This temple is just 80-100 km away from Pondicherry. You take a bus to get there.
Pichavaram Forest: The Pichavaram Mangrove Forest near Chidambaram is the world's second-largest mangrove forest. Pichavaram mangrove forest is located between two prominent estuaries, the Vellar estuary in the north and the Coleroon estuary in the south.
