Yamini Malhotra Struggles To Rent House In Mumbai: "They Outright Refuse..."

Social media star Yamini Malhotra has recently opened up about the challenges she's facing while searching for a home in the city of dreams—Mumbai. Yamini revealed that landlords are hesitant to rent her a house simply because she's an actor. She is finding it tough to secure a place, as many homeowners aren't keen on renting to people from the industry. Yamini also said that brokers have also been asking her questions about her religion and ethnicity.

Taking to her Instagram stories, she wrote, "Hello guys, I just want to share something that's been really disheartening. As much as I love Mumbai, finding a home here has been a tough journey. I have been asked questions like, ‘Are you Hindu or Muslim?' ‘Gujarati or Marwadi?' And as soon as people hear I am an actor, they outright refuse."

"Can We Really Call This The City Of Dreams..."

She added, "Does being an actor make me less deserving of a home? It's shocking how these questions still exist in 2025. Can we really call this the city of dreams if dreams come with conditions?"

Yamini is a dentist as well who hails from Delhi. She has also featured in 'Main Teri Tu Mera', and the 2016 Telugu film, 'Chuttalabbai'.

Yamini had entered 'Bigg Boss 18' as a wildcard contestant. She was eliminated from the house within a few weeks. The Salman Khan-hosted TV reality show concluded on January 19, 2025, with Karan Veer Mehra lifting the coveted winner's trophy. Meanwhile, Vivian Dsena managed to become the first runner-up followed by social media influencer Rajat Dalal as the second runner-up. Among the others on the finalists list were Eisha Singh, Avinash Mishra, and Chum Darang.

Yamini's Reaction to Karan Veer's Win:

Yamini also made the headlines with her reaction to Karan Veer Mehra's victory. Visibly unhappy with the results, Yamini showed her support for Rajat, stating that she was expecting him to win.

During a conversation with the media following the grand finale, Yamini said, "Vivian or Rajat Ji should have won. Karan Veer has won, that is his destiny. What can we do? But my heart is broken and I don't feel good about it. Rajat Ji should have won. He was trending all over the internet. It depends on the fans' voting but if you ask my opinion, I am very disappointed. Ever since Rajat Ji came out of the house, we have been very sad. We thought Vivian and him would make it to the top two finalists but Karan Veer won."
