Tragic Death: 18-Year-Old Social Media Influencer Adithya Dies After Alleged Cyber Bullying

In Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, an eighteen-year-old girl, Adithya, who gained 1 lakh followers on her social media account, passed away while undergoing treatment at a medical hospital on Monday. According to sources, she had attempted suicide by hanging a week ago, allegedly due to cyberbullying.

Adithya was a class 12th student at Cotton Hills School. She was admitted to the hospital in critical condition after her suicide attempt. Following this incident, the hospital authorities informed the local police. According to the police, her parents did not file a complaint regarding the suicide attempt. Although the police tried to take a statement from the girl, they were unable to do so due to her critical health condition. Her Instagram account showed comments referring to the cyberbullying she had been subjected to in the past few weeks. The police, however, said that the exact reason that led her to end her life is being examined.

Apart from this, Adithya's troubles began due to a deteriorating relationship with a local Instagram influencer from Nedumangad. Their romantic relationship had recently soured, leading to a heated exchange between their respective followers on social media. The situation turned into a cyber conflict, marked by inflammatory comments and personal attacks directed at both.

As per reports, Adithya's online harassment had deeply disturbed her. It is learned that Adithya's family will approach the authorities after conducting her last rites to pursue legal action regarding the circumstances surrounding her tragic death. For now, the police have registered a case of unnatural death. The officials said that they are investigating the circumstances surrounding her death and the allegations of cyberbullying.
