Tahira Kashyap's Breast Cancer Relapses; Says, "Round 2 For Me..."

Tahira Kashyap has recently shared the news of her cancer diagnosis. She is now battling a breast cancer relapse, seven years after she beat it for the first time.

In her social media post, Kashyap, who is also the wife of actor Ayushmann Khurrana, spread awareness about regular mammograms and called her relapse 'round two' of the battle. She used the popular phrase 'when life gives you lemons, make lemonade' to express that she is going to fight the disease for the second time with a positive outlook towards life.

"Round 2 For Me... I Still Got This..."

Taking to her Instagram, Tahira wrote, "Seven-year itch or the power of regular screening- it's a perspective, I had like to go with the latter and suggest the same for everyone who needs to get regular mammograms. Round 2 for me...I still got this." 

"When Life Gives You Lemons, Make Lemonade..."

She also wrote in the caption, "When life gives you lemons, make lemonade. When life becomes too generous and throws them again at you, you squeeze them calmly into your favourite kala khatta drink and sip it with all the good intentions. Because, for one, it's a better drink, and two, you know you will give it your best once again. Ironically or not, today is World Health Day. Let's do whatever we can in our capacity to take care of ourselves, gratitude through and through."

Ayushmann's Comment Goes Viral:

Her post has caught a lot of attention, and the comment section is filled with heartfelt wishes. Ayushmann was quick to drop a comment on the post. He wrote, "My hero," followed by a red heart emoji.

Kashyap was first diagnosed with breast cancer in 2018. She has been a regular advocate of being aware of the disease. She has also been leading body positivity campaigns, by sharing her own surgery scars. Kashyap also embraced baldness and refused to wear a wig to hide it during her first chemotherapy session.

In an interview with Filmfare earlier this year, she talked about undergoing a mastectomy and shared that her parents didn't talk to her after she posted her photos of a bald look on social media. She said, "My parents got really upset with me when I put up my bald picture (after the cancer diagnosis). A bald look for a woman is somehow synonymous with disaster, so they refused to talk to me and were forcing me to take it down."

Kashyap remembered telling her parents that she wanted to 'celebrate' that phase of her life, while they couldn't understand what 'celebrating an illness' meant.
