Sugandha Sharma, a content creator, is in the spotlight after her Instagram reel of Bengaluru went viral. In the video, she stated that the city would be empty if all North Indians left. The event sparked widespread outrage and frustration.

A Change of Heart

Responding to criticism, Sharma released another video to clarify her feelings about Bengaluru. “I love Bangalore,” she said, urging viewers not to use her original video to divide people. She stressed that her comments were intended as a light joke, not to offend anyone.

Promoting Unity

Sharma emphasized her role as a traveler who appreciates and respects different cultures. “Wherever I go, I try to understand the culture of that place,” she explained. She called for an open-minded approach, urging people to realize that they are all members of the same country irrespective of their regional background.

Addressing the Backlash

The first video sparked outrage, especially with comments about the influence of North Indians leaving the city. She said landlords would lose out on rent income and vibrant nightlife including "girls dancing to Punjabi songs" This statement did not sit well with many, including prominent figures like Chandan Shetty, Chaitra J Achar, and Anupama Gowda, who condemned her remarks.

A Call for Understanding

In her follow-up video, Sharma emphasized the importance of unity among Indians. “North, south, east, west—whatever part of India we come from, we are all part of the same country,” she said. She hopes her audience will focus on spreading love rather than hate.
