Shalini Passi: "I Don't Do Paid Partnerships..."

Shalini Passi got overnight fame with her appearance in Netflix's 'Fabulous Lives vs Bollywood Wives'. Now, she has recently attended an event in which she was questioned by filmmaker and producer Karan Johar about the paid partnerships that are coming her way after the success of her series.

Answering the question of K Jo. She said, "I don't do paid partnerships..." She has shared the video of the same on her social media. In the video, the audience can be seen cheering for her after the answer.

"I Tried to Have an Accent..."

While speaking with Instant Bollywood, Shalini Passi recalled the time she tried to have an accent. She said, "I tried to have an accent. It's not like I didn't try. Main itni doodh ki dhuli bhi nahi hu. Maine bhi bohot try kara tha, but wo nahi aaya. Actually, I've always been very proud that I don't have an accent." Explaining the reason behind it, she said that people often fawn over French people speaking in English, but no one ever says that they love the Hindi accent.

"I am from Delhi. And it's like when French people speak, we say ‘wow! My God I love the way he speaks English. He's a French guy.'  But I have never heard anybody say ‘I love the way she speaks English, she has a very Hindi accent'," explained Shalini. She further added that she used to eat up words, and even now sometimes she realizes she isn't speaking proper English on camera.

"It's Not Even Proper English..."

"Even now I'm like ‘what am I even saying on camera. It's not even like proper English half the time. But it is what it is. Also, there's so much going on in my brain- there's art, there's music, fashion, there's culture- sometimes what I say is actually very minimal. Because sometimes when you have so much to express, and what comes out is just very basic," said Shalini.

Shalini featured alongside Kalyani Chawla and Riddhima Kapoor Sahni as a part of the Delhi group in the latest season of the Netflix show, which brought back the original Mumbai ‘wives' Maheep Kapoor, Seema Sajdeh, Bhavana Pandey and Neelam Kothari. Shalini's eccentricities made her a standout on the show and attracted a lot of attention from her fellow cast members.
