- "Criticism about the body isn't just limited..."
Rashami Desai has recently opened up about social media trolling and body shaming. She said that nobody really knowns the reason why someone is putting on a weight, so there should be no judgment about it.
Rashami Desai On Body Shaming:
In an exclusive conversation with Bollywood Bubble, addressing the issue of fat shaming, she said, "Criticism about the body isn't just limited to women but even men. Be it women or men, fat shaming of any form and type isn't cool and shouldn't happen. You never really know the exact reason why someone is of a certain weight. What if they are trying to lose weight but are unable to due to certain complications? It's like adding salt to someone's wound."
"I Know What Is Best For Me..."
She added, "People should be more empathetic in nature. Just like anyone else, I too have had my share of judgements regarding my weight and body but I have stopped caring about them. I know what is best for me and what I need to do to engage in that direction. I don't care."
"I Am Grateful To The Universe..."
Taking about the pressure to stay relevant, she said, "While a lot of people have given in to this kind of pressure, I am fortunate to have never given up to such pressure. I feel God has been quite kind with the way I have been made and I am grateful to the universe for the same. I am absolutely and entirely happy with how I appear. I receive a lot of love for the way I am and I only have gratitude for people due to this."
We have seen actors are often criticized if they put up weight no matter what is reason behind it. People need to think about it, trolling can have a severe effect on someone's mental health and there are several reasons for putting on weight, maybe health issues or others.
