Ranveer Allahbadia In Legal Trouble? Here's What We Know So Far

Ranveer Allahbadia has been making the headlines with his recent appearance on Samay Raina's 'India's Got Latent'. Now, he has landed in legal trouble as well. An individual named Akshit Singh has filed a complaint against YouTube and the host of the show, Samay Raina, for “promoting obscenity".

Ranveer Allahbadia In Legal Trouble?

A screenshot of the complaint, filed on February 9, was shared on X (formerly Twitter) by the handle “@HinduITCell". 
"We have filed an official complaint with the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting against Samay Raina and Ranveer Allahbadia for promoting obscenity. Jai Hind," reads the caption to the official complaint. The complaint, filed just a day ago, is under process by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting of India.

As per the screenshot of the complaint, the government has asked Amarendra Singh, Deputy Secretary, MIB, to "take relevant actions on the show makers".

About the Controversy:

Ranveer is facing backlash for a crass joke he made on the show. He asked a contestant whether they would rather watch their parents have sex for the rest of their lives or join them once and put a stop to it.

Ranveer appeared on the latest episode of 'India's Got Latent' as a judge alongside Samay Raina, Ashish Chanchlani, Apoorva Mukhija aka The Rebel Kid and others. During the episode, he grilled a contestant with a question that attracted the internet's censure.

"Would you rather watch your parents have sex every day or join them to finish it once and for all?" he asked.

Samay Raina's Reaction:

The question momentarily surprised even Raina, who is known for his dark humour. "What the f***?" Raina asked. "Kya ho gaya hai Ranveer bhai ko? another judge on the show was heard asking. While the judges laughed off Ranveer's comments, social media was not as forgiving.

Backlash Against Beerbiceps:

His comments on the show didn't go well with the netizens and they bashed him. X user Neelesh Misra slammed the showrunners for allowing such content to be published online.

He wrote, "This content is not designated as adult content — it can be seen with ease even by a child if the algorithm takes him or her there. The creators or the platform have zero sense of responsibility,” Misra wrote, adding: “Decency is not incentivized in India — by platforms or audiences — and creators are stooping lower and lower for audience reach and revenue."
