Social media sensation Rakhi Sawant has been summoned by the Maharashtra Cyber Police in connection with the ongoing controversy surrounding podcaster Ranveer Allahbadia's remarks on India's Got Latent. She has been asked to appear on February 24 to record her statement as the investigation into the matter intensifies.

Rakhi Sawant Summoned by Maharashtra Police Cyber Cell:

The controversy dates back to October last year when Rakhi appeared on Samay Raina's show, India's Got Latent. During the episode, she had a heated exchange with co-judge Maheep Singh, which escalated when she threw a chair on stage. The incident, which took place in Delhi, quickly went viral after an audience member shared the footage online. Reports suggest that Rakhi continuously interrupted Maheep Singh with inappropriate jokes, which led to rising tensions between them and ultimately resulted in the abrupt end of the episode.

Meanwhile, on February 24, popular YouTubers Ashish Chanchlani and Ranveer Allahbadia appeared before the Cyber Cell to provide their statements. A day earlier, stand-up comedian Shashwat Maheshwari was also summoned. So far, the Maharashtra Cyber Department has recorded statements from several individuals, including Raghu Ram and Devesh Dixit. As the investigation continues, more individuals linked to the show are being called for questioning.

About the Controversy:

The controversy surrounding Ranveer Allahbadia began when he made an inappropriate comment to a female contestant during an episode of India's Got Latent, sparking public outrage. Following the backlash, comedian Samay Raina removed all episodes of the show from YouTube. Additionally, the Supreme Court has directed Allahbadia to submit his passport to the investigating officer at the Nodal Cyber Police Station in Thane. The court has also placed a temporary ban on him and his associates from airing any content on YouTube or other platforms until further notice.

Following the incident, a formal complaint was filed with the Mumbai Police Commissioner and the Maharashtra Women's Commission. In response to the uproar, Allahbadia, widely known for his BeerBiceps brand, issued a public apology, acknowledging that his comment was inappropriate.

"My comment was not appropriate; it was not even funny. Comedy is not my forte—I am just here to say sorry," he stated in a video apology. He further added, "I personally had a lapse in judgment. It was not cool on my part. I want to use my platform better, and that has been my biggest learning from this experience. I have requested the makers to remove the insensitive segment from the video."
