YouTuber and actor Prajakta Koli has opened up about her fitness journey, revealing she embraced a balanced approach to health, prioritizing exercise and home-cooked meals over restrictive diets.
"I Am Heavier Now, But I Am Toned..."
Prajakta recently made an appearance at Bharti Singh's Bharti TV Podcast. She was questioned about her fitness transformation. Talking about the same, she said, "I have actually gained weight but lost fat. There was too much inflammation, bloating, and water retention in my body. My weight was actually lesser earlier, but because I have gained muscle, I am heavier now, but I am toned."
"I Cannot Diet; Food Makes Me Too Happy"
When asked to share the secret to her weight loss, Prajakta said she lost weight through exercise and not by following a strict diet. "I cannot diet; food makes me too happy, I cannot leave it. I did try going on a strict diet once, I think I clinically got sick and was sad... after the Covid-19 lockdown, I realized I was very unhealthy."
"I Was Tired After Walking 4 Steps"
She added, "I was not able to get enough sleep, eat healthy, or drink enough water, my skin was bad, I had hair fall, and I was tired after walking 4 steps. That is how my fitness journey started. But with time, I realized that more than my physical health, my mental health depended on fitness and exercise.”
Her fitness journey, however, has been a transformative one. Prajakta stressed that mental health plays a huge role in her well-being and has become just as important as physical health. Over time, she discovered that fitness and exercise not only improved her body but also her mind.
Prajakta's Balanced Approach to Health:
Rather than resorting to fad diets, Prajakta follows a holistic, three-step fitness regimen:
A mix of cardio, strength training, and yoga keeps her workout routine varied and effective.
She emphasizes home-cooked meals, focusing on a balanced diet that includes proteins, carbs, and healthy fats.
Hydration is key—Prajakta drinks plenty of water daily to keep her skin glowing and her body hydrated.
She ensures consistency in her workouts, even on her busiest days.
