"Influencers are this and influencers are that." Very commonly we read headlines in which actors are often criticizing influencers for getting more exposure and opportunities. Recently, veteran actor Seema Pahwa lashed out at influencers and called them 'diseases'

Seema Pahwa's Remarks About Influencers:

She said, "Nowadays, there's a new disease of influencers. I think we should leave the industry because how can we stand with them? You've earned fame by posting 20 reels; it took me 50 years to achieve that. How are you standing equal to me?"

"This Is A Famous Face..."

She added, "I'm sad to say this to my industry, to casting directors and producers—you can't do this. The audience may be watching influencers on reels, but these producers say, ‘This is a famous face; their likes have increased a lot. Put them in your film.'"

Why Influencers Click With Movie Makers:

The main reason is their wide reach and immense fan-following definitely making the films reach a wider audience. That's why for promotional events influencers are in huge demand.

POV:

Let me set the record straight, there is no second thought that the influencers are seekable but what is their fault in that? Like you have earned a name and fame with your acting work, to make reels is their job. And if they are given preference that's also not their problem. There is no denying that this is the social media era and influencers are hot-selling cake in the market because they can bring a lot to the table. I have interviewed n number of influencers their job is also not a bed of roses. They are equally hardworking people.

Aahana S Kumra's Opinion:

This is not the first time, earlier Aahana S Kumra called out influencer culture and mentioned that it is getting difficult for the actors to get the projects because of influencers with huge fan-following entering the business, however, they don't know how to 'act'.

She mentioned, "Even filmmakers who you want to work with are moving towards people with social media clout, the so-called influencers. So, actors are left wondering, should I become an influencer and start dancing on social media to get a job? Should I start ranting, do mimicry, or be like a Dilli ki aunty? Is this how you are going to get a job? Because I don't think those people will be able to do anything more than that."

Not targeting anyone but just saying Rani Mukerji is not on social media, but she is still doing good work on her merit. While Vidya Balan is off lately creating some great content on Instagram. I doubt if she is creating that out of choice or pressure to be in this race. But her filmography is still the same, she is giving hits the way she used to. Nothing different after creating content or not being on social media I can see. If you are not getting a project that can be your thing, not necessarily an influencer is to be blamed for it. Creating content on social media is a choice and treat influencers like any other actor in the industry if they are entering the business.
