Lucknow Influencer Ajeet Maurya, With 2 Wives, 9 Children, and 6 Girlfriends, Arrested in the City

In a startling turn of events, Ajeet Maurya, a name familiar to social media users, finds himself in the clutches of the law, his once-celebrated online presence now overshadowed by a trail of criminal activities.

Ajeet Maurya, who gained fame as a social media influencer, has been apprehended by the Uttar Pradesh Police in Lucknow. Maurya, allegedly involved in various criminal activities to support his extravagant lifestyle and provide for his extensive family, including two wives and nine children, was taken into custody.

As per media reports, the charges against Maurya include running fraudulent Ponzi-like schemes, circulating counterfeit currency, and engaging in insurance scams. According to law enforcement, the 41-year-old, a dropout from the sixth grade, rose to prominence by creating content on social media platforms.

Maurya's arrest came as a result of a complaint filed by Dharmendra Kumar, who claimed to have been deceived of Rs 3 lakhs in a scheme promising to double the invested amount.

The police disclosed that Maurya turned to a life of crime to support his large family, having married Sangeeta in 2000 and fathered seven children with her before losing his job in Mumbai by 2010. After returning to his village in Gonda, he struggled to find lucrative employment and eventually resorted to criminal activities.

Before his arrest, Maurya was allegedly making plans for an overseas trip for New Year celebrations. Despite his criminal activities, he managed to lead a lavish lifestyle, dividing the ill-gotten gains among his two wives and himself. The police investigation also revealed that Maurya had six girlfriends, whom he took on extended trips.

The roots of his criminal journey trace back to 2016 when his first case of theft and trespassing was registered in Gonda. Subsequently, he joined forces with Sushila in 2019, expanding his criminal activities to include fake currency circulation and Ponzi-like schemes.
