Everyone talks about the perks and fame of content creation, but very few see that just like Rome wasn't built in a day, creators didn't find success overnight! It takes years of consistency and hard work and then comes the result. As 23rd April is celebrated as International Creators Day, we reached out to some creators to know about the challenges of content creation and one thing they wish people knew about content creation! Read what they shared.

Nisman Parpia

One of the biggest challenges I've faced as a creator is maintaining engagement and consistent numbers. To be honest, posting reels consistently hasn't been difficult for me, but receiving an excellent response on every video is something that only a few have mastered. Another challenge is motivating myself each day to wake up, shoot, and be productive, especially on days when I just feel 'blah' and want to lay in bed doing nothing. I wish I had cracked the secret to overcome this. Balancing law studies with content creation, completing assignments, preparing for vivas, and attending college regularly at 7 in the morning, all while editing videos, writing scripts, and shooting at night has been tiring yet exhilarating!

One thing I wish people knew about content creation is, that "you cannot impress everyone," and that's fine.

Arun Nair

Being a creator is a juggling act! Whether it's editorial, cinematic, or lifestyle content, we're always trying to strike a balance between staying creative and being consistent. Coming up with fresh ideas across different genres is a constant challenge that keeps us on our toes. We're always experimenting with new formats and techniques to keep things interesting.

Managing our time well and teaming up with others now and then are crucial to give each project the attention it deserves. And let's not forget those creative blocks! They're tough to get past, but we keep pushing through, adapting to the ever-changing world of content.

But you know what? Despite all the challenges, there's something incredibly fulfilling about sharing our unique stories and connecting with people. At the end of the day, being a creator is all about overcoming hurdles, embracing change, and building meaningful connections. It's a tough journey, but it's fueled by passion and resilience, making it all worth it.

Robin Kurian

One of the biggest challenges is putting yourself out there, especially when your vision is different from what people are used to. As a guy obsessed with the leading ladies of Indian Television, even the thought of draping myself in a saree and presenting it to the world was scary. But I did it anyway. Fortunately, my work was loved and applauded by millions of viewers who were ready to accept this new form of art.

One lesson I cherish from my journey is that there will always be people out there who might not like how you are, but there could be a majority who will accept your flaws and celebrate them. You just need to find your people and believe in your vision.

Preposa

When we started, the biggest challenge we faced was editing. We had no prior knowledge of it, and there was no one around to help us. Without proper editing skills, we couldn't make videos. So, we taught ourselves by watching YouTube tutorials. We used to spend 10-11 hours every day watching various editing tutorials and practising on our own.

I wish people knew that content creation requires extreme hard work, discipline, and patience.

One of the biggest challenges I've faced in content creation is coming up with new ideas every single day. Nowadays, creators need to be active on every social media platform and produce engaging content. However, creators often struggle to come up with ideas that truly resonate and set a benchmark. This is often referred to as a 'content block.'

I overcome this challenge by talking to friends who are also in the content creation field and seeking their help. I also consume more content on various platforms, take breaks, and pace myself.

One thing I wish people knew about content creation is that it's not easy to earn money. It's not as simple as picking up your phone, shooting a video, and posting it. This field requires dedication, consistency, and hard work. You also need to know how to create invoices; you have to be a complete package.

WhosThat360 Wishes the Creator Community a Happy International Creators Day!
