Hina Khan On Why She Chose To Open Up About Her Cancer Struggle: "I Haven't Even Shared 1%"

Hina Khan shocked her fans last year when she announced that she had been diagnosed with stage three breast cancer. Since then, she has not just undergone treatment but bounced back and returned to work. Now, Hina spoke about her battle with cancer, why she chose to speak about it, and what keeps her fit and fighting.

"I Haven't Even Shared 1%"

Speaking to The Free Press Journal, Hina Khan said, "I haven't even shared 1% of my journey. Not even 1% of what you've seen out there. I'll keep it very short and crisp. I have probably shared some videos which I felt were very important for me to put out there because right now, as we speak, there are a million people who are going through this, dealing with this – women and men, especially women."

She further explained that sharing videos about her hair loss or other aspects of her health was a deliberate choice, as each detail had a deeper meaning. Hina emphasized that everything she shared was meant to inspire and empower other women.

"I Want To Put It Out..."

Hina shared that despite the challenges, her journey has inspired many women. She mentioned how numerous women had contacted her hairstylist, requesting similar hair extensions she used, which were made from her own hair after she cut it post-chemotherapy. Looking ahead, Hina expressed her intention to share her entire journey someday, saying, "I am definitely going to share my entire journey one day – I will. I want to put it out. I will."

Hina underwent chemotherapy in her fight against cancer and has now resumed work. She has been promoting her new show 'Griha Laxmi' and also sorting out future projects. "I love this routine, reading scripts, talking to my team about my wardrobe for the day. I like discussing what options we have, where are we going? Who are we walking for? Who's the designer? All of this excites me," said Hina, adding that the structure of working again helps her stay level. "The only thing in this entire world which keeps me away and on my toes, and I forget what is happening in the world, is my work," she added.

About the Diagnosis:

Back in June, Hina Khan announced the news of her stage 3 breast cancer diagnosis to Instagram family. However, Hina assured her fans that she was “doing well". In her statement, she revealed that her therapy had already begun and thanked everyone for their love and support.
