There have been a lot of Ups and Downs in 2024, including some sudden and unfortunate deaths of our favorite creators and role models, which will be always remembered for eternity in our hearts. Some were designers and actors while others were YouTubers and influencers, all remarkable figures in their respective niches. But what was the real reason behind their demise?-Adding to our curiosity, here's a brief breakdown of the suspense and mystery, while also remembering them forever again-
1- Rohit Bal-
Rohit Bal, the Indian fashion scene's beloved fashion designer, known as 'Gudda', died at 63 of a heart attack in Delhi on November 1. Rohit was a founding member of the Fashion Design Council of India and was known for his unique designs that combined traditional Indian patterns with modern aesthetics. His gender-inclusive designs and traditional-modern fusion were loved by everyone.
The Fashion Design Council confirmed the news. “We mourn the passing of Legendary designer Rohit Bal. He was a founding member of the Fashion Design Council of India (FDCI). Known for his unique blend of traditional patterns with modern sensibilities, Bal's work redefined Indian fashion and inspired generations. His legacy of artistry, and innovation along with forward thinking will live on in the fashion world. Rest in peace GUDDA. You are a legend,”
2- Aanvi Kamdar-
A 27-year-old Mumbai-based chartered accountant and social media influencer, popularly known as The Glocal Journal tragically passed away on 16 July, after falling into a 300-foot gorge while filming Instagram videos at Kumbhe waterfall in Maharashtra's Raigad district. Despite rescue efforts, she succumbed to her injuries. Aanvi was renowned for her travel content, particularly emphasizing monsoon tourism during the rainy season in South Asia, and had amassed over 278,000 followers on Instagram.
3- Ankit Kalra-
The husband of fashion influencer Insha Ghai died at the age of 29 on 19 August. His last post on Instagram and Facebook, a day before his death, had an eerie message. Influencer Insha Ghaii has confirmed that her husband, Ankit Kalra, passed away due to a cardiac arrest. He described himself as an interior designer and a builder in his Instagram bio.
Ghaii has taken to Instagram to share two messages, one expressing her sadness over the passing of her husband and the other to dismiss all rumors, adding that Kalra passed away because of “unexpected and sudden cardiac arrest while sleeping.”
4- Rituraj Singh-
Popular television actor Rituraj Singh, renowned for his roles in numerous TV shows and films, passed away on 20 February, at the age of 59 due to a sudden cardiac arrest. He was undergoing treatment for pancreatic ailments. He was a familiar face in TV serials, films as well as OTT shows. His television projects include Banegi Apni Baat, Hitler Didi, Shapath, Adaalat, and Diya Aur Baati Hum. Besides, he appeared in supporting roles in Hindi films and OTT shows such as Bandish Bandits, Made in Heaven, and Indian Police Force.
5- Kerala Couple: Known as 'Sellu Family' on Youtube-
A couple, popular on YouTube, was found dead at their home in Kerala's Cheruvarakonam village on the night of October 26. The couple's bodies were first found by their son after he returned home during the late hours. According to a Malayalam publication, the deceased was identified as 37-year-old Priya and her husband 45-year-old Selvaraj.
They ran a YouTube channel ‘Sellu Family' with close to 19,000 subscribers. The couple's son, a home nursing trainee in Ernakulam, had spoken to them on the phone on Friday night. After failing to reach them since Saturday morning, he decided to visit them. Upon arrival, he found his mother lying dead on the bed, while his father was found hanging in the same room
6- 4 Youtubers: Salman, Shahrukh, Lucky, and Shahnawaz-
4 YouTubers, known as 'Round Ki Army' tragically lost their lives in a head-on collision between two vehicles in Uttar Pradesh's Amroha district on June 9. Identified as Salman, Shahrukh, Lucky, and Shahnawaz, they were known for creating humorous content on YouTube's Round 2 World channel. Reports indicate the group was returning home after celebrating a birthday when their vehicle collided with an oncoming Bolero.
