Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant has refuted the claims by a few travel influencers that tourists are ditching Goa for other places and criticized them for sending the wrong message about the state. He said all the hotels and beaches in the state were full and urged the influencers to visit these places.

CM Pramod Sawant Slams Influencers:

Sawant's remarks came after some influencers posted photos and videos of near-deserted beaches, restaurants, and roads and claimed that Goa was "empty" of tourists during Christmas and New Year celebrations. However, the Chief Minister denied that Goa was empty during New Year's festivities and said all tourists, including those from India and other parts of the world, were coming to the state in large numbers.

"Influencers Are Doing Wrong Thing"

"All the hotels here are full. Some influencers keep saying that tourists are not coming to Goa and are going to other places. They are doing the wrong thing by giving a wrong message about Goa to the people," he told news agency ANI.

He highlighted that necessary infrastructure was arranged for tourists at popular churches, beaches, and temples to welcome them.

"Influencers Should Come and See..."

Bashing the influencers for claiming that Goa was empty during the New Year's celebrations, Sawant said, "Some influencers keep saying on social media that tourists are not coming to Goa and are going to other places. They are doing the wrong thing. They are giving the wrong message about Goa to the people. I also want to tell them that they should come and see the coastal sites themselves."

He said every beach and road in Goa "was full" and international tourists were flocking to the state. "There is so much crowd on the road and all the people coming are being welcomed warmly," he said.

The Chief Minister said additional police forces had been deployed to control overcrowding and to maintain law and order.
