Popular YouTuber Saurabh Joshi has recently received a threatening letter demanding Rs. 2 crores. Saurabh Joshi Received Death Threats:
Joshi received a letter demanding to pay Rs 2 crore to keep himself and his family safe. As per sources, it warned that if he didn't pay within five days, someone in his family would be killed. The letter also told him not to go to the police or tell anyone. It included an Instagram handle for further contact, which the police forces are now checking.
Police Made an Arrest:
When Saurabh received the letter, he immediately contacted the police. The letter mentioned the threatening Lawrence Bishnoi gang, and so, the police took the threat seriously. Police authorities stated that they wasted no time and started looking through security footage and other important clues to track down who was behind it.
About the Case:
The police quickly found Arun Kumar, a man from Uttar Pradesh, and arrested him in Haldwani. He admitted that he wasn't really part of the Bishnoi gang. Instead, he had made up the story to scare Saurabh Joshi into giving him money. Kumar said he had lost his job as a security guard and thought he could make quick money by threatening Joshi, as mentioned by the media outlets. His plan didn't work, and he was arrested for trying to blackmail and in an attempt to extract money from the YouTuber.
The threatening letter had an Instagram ID, which the police are now investigating. They are working with cybercrime experts to track where the message came from and check if anyone else was involved in the scam.
