As we eagerly await the release of Taaza Khabar Season 2, we had an exclusive conversation with Bhuvan Bam, the creative genius behind BB Ki Vines. In this candid interview, Bhuvan shares his thoughts on the evolving landscape of social media and how it has stripped away the exclusivity of our lives. He opens up about the challenges of maintaining creative freedom in a digital age dominated by constant online presence, his journey from content creation to acting, his passion for singing, and some of his most memorable fan interactions. Join us as Bhuvan Bam gives us a glimpse into his world, offering a unique perspective on balancing creativity and the demands of a public life.
1. How has your journey from being a content creator to an actor been? What does this transition feel like?
The transition was slow, as expected. It wasn't quick and took around 8-9 years, but it was a much-needed change. While creating content, I realized that I could pursue full-time acting, which I'm still learning. I also consider myself lucky as I got the opportunities at the right time. I recognized my calling and kept working hard. Thanks to Hotstar for Taaza Khabar and YouTube for Dhindora. Taaza Khabar Season 2 and Dhindora Season 2 are in the pipeline.
2. In BB Ki Vines, you had full control, but with new projects, the steering wheel goes into someone else's hands. Do you feel that taking up predefined roles in series somewhat restricts your creative freedom?
Nope, not at all. As long as the platform provides me with creative control, I do not face any restrictions. People in the business are very well aware of the fact that until you give creators creative freedom, you won't be able to make a great show.
3. Which art form do you feel more at home in: Acting or singing?
Singing is very close to my heart as all the upcoming projects are loaded with great music, and my happiness lies in the music that comes from the heart. I believe any project becomes successful in India when it has a great album and its music is everywhere. I also believe if I have a little bit of musical sensibility, then it should be utilized in the show to make it top-notch.
4. Bhuvan, take us through your craziest fan interaction to date.
There are many crazy fan interactions, but what scares me the most are the ones who come to meet me without informing their parents or guardians. It becomes a little tricky because it becomes your responsibility to guide them correctly.
5. Has the over-access to social media somewhat lessened the craze for content creators?
I feel exclusivity is lacking. Nowadays, another name for relevancy is social media. You are now bound to share the smallest bits of your life updates, even if you don't like it, as it's all about the numbers game now. We're all caught up in that kind of Chakravyuh, and this will only increase to the extent that people will eventually lose interest in showcasing their lives on social media.
