'Bal Sant' Abhinav Arora's Father On Dior Bag Row: "We don't use leather at all..."

Abhinav Arora remains in the news with different controversies. This time, the ‘Bal Sant' is facing backlash after he was spotted carrying a luxury Dior bag, worth Rs 3.10 lakh, during the 2025 Maha Kumbh Mela in Prayagraj. This sparked criticism on social media, as many Hindus avoid using calfskin items. Abhinav's father, Tarun Raj Arora claimed that the bag wasn't leather, but it was made from "fabric canvas." Tarun also declined to reveal the specific make or model of the designer bag. He explained that his son leads a simple life, by focusing on family and religious practices. If he had something to hide, he wouldn't have brought the bag with him to the Sangam.

"I Don't Use Leather At All..."

In an interview with Hindustan Times, Abhinav's father said, "The said bag is made out of fabric canvas and not calfskin. I don't use leather at all, even in my footwear. I will never do that in my lifetime. As far as materialistic possessions are concerned, I am living a family-centered social life performing religious rituals. I am telling you again that I am not a saint and just a devotee and a spiritual orator."

He added, "Whatever I do, I don't hide. Otherwise, I wouldn't have taken the said bag to Sangam where 2 Crore people took a bath on Magh Purnima. It's a fabric canvas bag. Not sure about the name. We bought it on our last foreign tour."

Although Tarun Raj Arora denied that the bag was made of leather, Dior's website clearly states that the accessory is made using animal skin. As per the website, "Crafted in black coated cotton canvas with the CD Diamond printed motif, it showcases Marc Bohan's 1974 graphic design reimagining the CD initials in the form of a diamond with architectural lines. It is embellished with smooth calfskin detailing."

Since last year, Abhinav Arora has found himself in a number of controversies, as social media users accuse him and his parents of pretending to be spiritual just to get attention. In response, his family took legal action against some YouTubers and influencers who were mocking him online. The constant trolling has affected Abhinav and he was unable to go to school because of the bullying he faced.
