1. Waxing while Using Retinoids

If you apply any retinoids, your skin could become sensitive to waxing. Waxing while on these products can cause tear, burn, or even scarring. For this reason, you might have to delay waxing for a few days once you stop applying the retinoids.

2. Applying Actives Before and After Waxing

When you wax, you remove not just your hair but a layer of dead skin. You may feel irritation when you are using active ingredients such as AHA, BHA, or Vitamin C at this stage. Use soothing elements like hyaluronic acid, calendula, or soothing aloe vera before and after waxing.

3. No Moisturizer or Sunscreen After Waxing

After a wax, your skin is more prone to dryness and sun senstivity. Make sure apply a broad-spectrum sunscreen with at least SPF 30 over a good fragrance-free moisturizer for protecting your skin against the harsh rays of the sun.
