Kusha Kapila is a social media sensation. She enjoys immense popularity for her character Billli Massi. She is known for taking digs at the country's rich and elite class in her hilarious videos. She has created a brand for herself, and she has been there with most of the Bollywood biggies like Karan Johar, Ranveer Singh, and others additionally she has also been at Amabani's event which is no less than an achievement.

Education

Only a few know that she graduated from the National Institute of Fashion Technology in fashion design, and she worked as a merchandising intern for Bhartiya International Limited based in Delhi for three months. Subsequently, she worked as a product design intern at Chisell Effects, in Noida.

Wanted to be Journalist 

Kusha always wanted to be a journalist and surprisingly she achieved her goal too and worked with reputed media houses like Apparel Online, Fashion Forward Trends, Razorfish, and Times Internet before working at iDiva, where she worked as a fashion editor.

Speaking with Vogue, she talked about her aim and said, ‘I always wanted to be a journalist. I actually wanted to cover a war, I remember, because Kargil happened when we were growing up and we used to watch Barkha Dutt—it had a very lasting impact on me. But obviously, I realised there's only so much I can do. I always wanted to write and that's exactly what I did.'

How did she start?

She started making videos for her Facebook page. Her humour, charm, comic characters, and relatable content won millions of hearts, making her an internet sensation overnight.

Inspiration behind Billi Massi

Her comic character Billi Massi is inspired by a real-life character whom she met in Delhi at the get-together.

She told Vogue, 'Billi Masi is a person I have actually met in real life. I met her when I was 19, at a friend's relatives' party at Chattarpur Farms, and I was in awe of her. There I was sitting like a fly on the wall just observing everybody—it was the crème de la crème of the society, everyone in their designer finery. And there she was—this middle-aged woman, and everybody was egging her on to sing.'

Not new to acting

She has had enough of acting. Kusha used to do street plays in her college which helped her in a long run. She told Vogue, ‘I had a brief acting stint in college. I used to do street plays and there was a period when I actually considered theatre, but never acting.' 

Passion for poetry

Habit of biting nails

Kusha revealed that she has a habit of biting her nails. In a conversation with Vogue, she was questioned about her biggest beauty regret. To which she said, 'Biting my nails. I think I have destroyed them by now.'

Her husband is also a content creator

She is married to Zorawar Singh Ahluwalia, who is an Indian YouTuber. He is the founder of the YouTube channel, Zor & More. The duo tied the knot in 2017 in an intimate ceremony.

Kusha has recently announced her separation from her husband with an Instagram post.
