- Effortless Sticker Removal
- Simple Household Ingredients
- No mess, No fuss
Have you ever purchased a new utensil only to find yourself struggling to remove those uneasy stickers? Worry no more! MasterChef Pankaj Bhadouria shares an infallible method to effortlessly remove stickers from utensils. Indulge in this kitchen hack and your utensils will be sticker-free and adhesive-free in no time!
Soak in Warm Water
Start by filling your sink or a large container with warm water. Submerge the utensil with the sticker in the water for about 15-20 minutes. The warmth of the water helps to loosen the adhesive, making the sticker easier to remove. This step is crucial for helping the adhesive loosen, thus facilitating the removal process.
Apply Cooking Oil
Once the utensil is completely soaked in warm water, apply a few drops of cooking oil, such as vegetable or olive oil, directly on the sticker. Let it sit for a few minutes. The oil cuts down the adhesive, further loosening the sticker from the utensil's surface. This is an easy and efficient way to deal with stubborn stickers without resorting to harsh chemicals for removal.
Gently Scrape
After the oil has had time to work, use a plastic scraper, an old credit card, or even your fingernail to gently lift the edge of the sticker. Slowly peel it off to avoid leaving any residue. If the sticker doesn't come off easily, don't rush. Put more oil if necessary and give it a few more minutes.
Use Baking Soda Paste
If there's any sticky residue left behind, don't worry! Make a paste using baking soda and a small amount of water. Rub this paste onto the residue with a cloth or sponge. Baking soda is a mild abrasive that effectively removes leftover adhesive without scratching your utensils.
Final Clean
Finally, wash the utensil with dish soap and warm water to remove any remaining oil or baking soda paste. Rinse thoroughly and dry with a clean towel. Your utensil should now be completely free of any stickers or adhesive residue.
