Remembering her past experience, she shared her childhood memories. 'I can still remember the white spot that developed when I fell while playing. When we went to the doctor, he just offered us creams to use. Dad believed there was more to this, so he went home and Googled it, where we discovered it to be vitiligo. The next day, we stormed into the doctor's cabin and demanded to know why he hadn't identified the condition as vitiligo', she said. He just stated, 'I understand how parents respond when their child gets vitiligo'
Aastha's way of dealing with Biases:
According to Aastha, vitiligo is a skin ailment that only affects the external body. She said, 'Since it's visible to the public eye, people tend to stare at us and pass disrespectful comments. This can take a bad toll on our mental health. Dealing with it is not easy, but if you start loving yourself and accepting yourself the way you are, you can get through anything. Also, a little support from family and close friends can always make you feel better.'
