Can you share a bit about your journey as a content creator and how you discovered your talent for comedy?
Initially, during the early stages of my content creation journey, I created videos of various genres without a specific plan in mind. It was all about having fun and not aiming for a serious career in this field. However, as I noticed the audience's positive response to my humorous sketches and way of speaking, I shifted gears. I focused on creating hilarious and relatable videos for my YouTube and Instagram followers.
How do you come up with ideas for your hilarious and relatable videos? Is there a specific process or inspiration behind them?
I draw inspiration from my surroundings to create relatable content. Whether it's situations I experience or those faced by my friends and family, I aim to capture the essence of everyday life. Utilizing trending audio, I search for lines that resonate with common situations, weaving them into my videos and crafting memes. Real life serves as my greatest inspiration, as the audience can connect with these cues personally.
When you were starting, how challenging was it to gain reach and traction? How did you maintain consistency in creating content, especially when you didn't have a large following of half a million people supporting you?
In the early days of my career, I had a small but devoted audience who consistently watched, supported, and enjoyed my videos. Recognizing their preference for comedy and relatable content, I began creating more while incorporating trending elements and audio, adding my unique touch to them. This strategic approach significantly expanded my fan base and reached a wider audience.
Have you ever faced any challenges in finding the right balance between your emotions and the need to create humorous content? How do you overcome those challenges?
Striking a delicate balance between personal emotions and creating humorous content is a formidable challenge, often resulting in mental exhaustion. It hinders my satisfaction with my work and gives the impression that I am not giving my best. When faced with such circumstances, I prioritize my mental and physical well-being, opting for a break as they are important to me.
Do you have any rituals or practices that help you stay inspired and motivated in your comedic journey, especially during challenging times?
I don't follow strict rituals or practices, but when I feel mentally drained, I have my way of escaping. I love gaming with my friends or meeting up with friends who live in different cities. It's my go-to method for recharging and clearing my mind, so I can return to work feeling refreshed and ready to go.
How do you balance creating content that makes others laugh and caring for your emotional well-being? Do you engage in any self-care practices or activities to recharge and find inspiration?
I ensure balance by regularly taking breaks to recharge and foster new ideas. Engaging in mentally stimulating video games alongside my friends, going on trips, and simply spending quality time with them all rejuvenates myself and ignites my creative inspiration.
With around 500k followers across social media platforms, how do you engage and interact with your audience? How important is their feedback to you?
I love connecting with my followers and getting to know them better. On Instagram, I often use the 'Ask Me Anything' or 'Q&A' feature in my stories, inviting my audience to ask questions and engage with me. I also host live sessions on YouTube, where I can read and respond to comments from viewers in real time. These interactions help me build stronger connections and engage more effectively with my audience.
What has been one of the most memorable reactions or responses you've received from your viewers? How did it make you feel?
A few months ago, while hanging out with my friends at a Mumbai mall, I had a heartwarming experience. A group of young girls recognized me and enthusiastically approached me, showering me with praise for my content and expressing their deep admiration for my videos. All my friends who were along with me looked so proud of me. I couldn't help but share this delightful encounter on my social media platforms, as it truly made my day.
Have you faced any challenges or obstacles as a content creator?
I often experience mental blocks due to the constant pressure of generating ideas and creating content. Creating content religiously and regularly with constant pressure can be mentally exhausting and frustrating. Instagram, in particular, can be overwhelming as new trends emerge daily, making it challenging to keep up with the pace.
How do you deal with negative comments or trolling?
I don't pay much attention to negative comments. Instead, I choose to ignore them. However, occasionally, I come across surprisingly creative and funny comments, and I share them with my friends, leading to a good laugh together. It's baffling how some individuals invest their time spreading hate instead of focusing on more constructive endeavours.
Apart from comedy, are there any other aspects or genres of content creation that you're interested in exploring in the future?
I haven't pondered it, as I believe in showcasing my authentic personality on my channels. Trust me, my natural self is far funnier than any scripted or planned videos I could upload. I am confident that staying true to myself will entertain the audience more, so I'll stick to that approach.
What are your aspirations and goals as a rising star in the digital landscape? How do you plan to continue entertaining and inspiring your audience in the long run?
At present, I am embracing the fluidity of the content creation industry. It's incredibly unpredictable, where seemingly irrelevant content can suddenly go viral. Therefore, I focus on delivering content that resonates with and entertains the audience, actively engaging with trends to keep them entertained.
What advice would you give aspiring comedians or content creators who struggle with creating funny content when they're not feeling particularly humorous?
My advice to fellow content creators is not to get discouraged if they don't find their content as funny as they envisioned. The concept of a video always appears funnier in our minds because we have spent a lot of time thinking about it and reviewing it. However, when the audience sees it for the first time, it becomes hilarious to them as it is fresh and new. It's also important not to share or explain your ideas to others around you, as they may not be able to envision or relate to them similarly. Let them experience the concept once it's executed.
