In an intimate conversation with Jayveer Singh, Dev Joshi unfilteredly discusses his journey in showbiz, the role of social media following in making the project successful, and much more.
Excerpts...
You're carrying the legacy forward of seasons. How do you feel about that?
It's an overwhelming journey for me. Being Baalveer for so many years, people have loved me, and shown me love, respect, and support. I just can't say enough words for that. Baalveer has always carried some sense of responsibility with it, and it has evolved over the years, but the ethics and authenticity have always been the same. I'm glad that after so many years, people are still loving the show, not only in India but also abroad.
Do you feel pressure carrying the baggage of two seasons?
No, not at all. It's exciting to see people still loving it, and it's going great. I don't feel pressured about it.
What's different in this season apart from the rest of the seasons?
A lot of things. We're continuing season 3 of Baalveer, where Baalveer meets his father for the first time. It's quite surprising for Baalveer, and it's going to be exciting. We have new villains, and Baalveer has to stop them. We're also exploring different multiverses, and Baalveer's own version is coming at the end.
Do you feel that social media following is the main reason for an actor's success or failure?
No, I think social media is just a part of your life. It shows how much people love you, and it's a great way to interact with fans. But you can't have your whole life on social media. I like my privacy, and I have my own life separate from social media and Baalveer.
What's the USP of Baalveer that makes it different from other shows?
First, it's Baalveer itself, which is a franchise on its own. Secondly, it's coming exclusively on Sony Live, which already has great content. It's the first time an Indian superhero is coming to an OTT platform globally, which will give us a huge reach. People have loved it, and I'm sure the new generation will love it too.
