Shanky Singh, digital content creator and podcast host connects with whosthat360 exclusively. In this conversation, he shares his view about the most talked about topic 'Long Form vs Short Form Content'
"Instagram Was Pushing..."
He was also questioned about how Influencers are balancing depth and vitality. To which, he replied, "Being an influencer/creator has always been challenging and tough, about the kind of content we want to create. Starting from Instagram almost 2 years back, Instagram was pushing all the reel content and with that, we all saw a flood of creators and influencers diving into the same pool. It was bad. Lakhs of creators, crores of ideas, and 1 platform, Instagram."
"Short Content Has More Potential..."
Talking about short content, he said, "Every short content piece we created took way less time compared to creating long-form content which gave us more push towards investing less time in creating a piece. With that short content has more potential to go viral (you would know if you are someone who consumes short content on Instagram and YouTube)."
He added, "As much as we love short content, as creators we should also have a clear idea of what exactly we are looking forward to from this journey of content creation. You should know, do you just want to go viral, do you want to build a community, do you want to sell something or what's the main cause of creating? As we talk about short form, it is so very important to balance your short content with long-form content."
"Long-form Content Definitely Helps You..."
Sharing his views on Long-form content, he said, "Long-form content is not everyone's cup of tea. Imagine you putting in 10x or more work to create long-form content. I am someone who runs my own podcast (Long-form Content), so I know the good and bad from both ends.
He added, "Long-form content definitely helps you in creating a great community. Someone who has watched my podcast episode for 1 hour straight is not going to forget me soon. Unlike Instagram, YouTube pays you for views. Which is a motivating factor for every creator."
"It takes a lot to balance both, but if I had the option to choose one, I would want to create long-form content rather than short-form," he concluded.
In fact, whatever kind of content creators create deserves appreciation. But what are your thoughts on Long Form vs Short Form Content? Let us know in the comments.
