Dolly Singh gets candid about her upcoming projects in an exclusive conversation with whosthat360. She mentioned that she is working on the short films and much more.

What's next for you after 'Best Worst Date season 2' and are there any upcoming projects that you're excited about? 

What's next for me for sure is definitely more of such series. I can see now that people are really enjoying it and I'm glad that you know as nervous as I was about this whole reception and longer episodes and all of those things. I think people have really proved me wrong and they showed me that they actually want to see more of such content.
 
Content that really engages them and involves them in that and my mission is to definitely make sure that my content is not part of everybody's doom scrolling and you know you really take yourself out and you're aware of what's happening in the story. So definitely more such series whether it's season 3 for the same or its new. I think I definitely want to have now newer ideas maybe different genres apart from rom-com.
 
Upcoming projects I think would definitely include these. I also definitely writing you know a short film or two and then would want to make those. Acting-wise also I feel like I want to keep auditioning and hopefully land bigger roles in Bollywood as well.
 
So that's my hope for 2025. But yeah for my own platform definitely a lot more of these series and hopefully also on YouTube because I feel like YouTube also has a big space for series like this. Of course, you know it's not new there.
 
An episodic series is something YouTube has always done. So, I think I would want to also go to that platform and try something new out and see how the audience is there receiving it. But yeah, more of these long-form things for sure.

When we talk about series or anything on social media, it's all about number games. Do you feel pressured?

Yes, like I mentioned, in season one, actually, we got a lot of great numbers. Numbers-wise, we were amazing.

Because the episodes were shorter. Of course, the engagement, involvement, and everything also were amazing. But you know, like you said, it's all about numbers.

And when you tell people the numbers, you know that they were such great numbers, you're happy. So, this time I was definitely nervous because the episodes were much, much longer. And I didn't know how to reach those numbers.

But you know, I sat down with my friends and other creative people and my team, my director, my co-actors, my partner, I think all of them actually advised me that, you know, at the end of the day, as much as it is, it can be about numbers, but it is also about having creative control and having a voice and being able to say what you want to say or what you want to show, without feeling so pressurized about the numbers that you only think about that. And, and, you know, that lets you make you decide the story or how it goes. I think that shouldn't be the case.

And while as a creator, I was still worried. I kept getting the support from people that you know, it's not the end and not everything is about numbers, which is also true. And to be honest, while the numbers might not be the same as season one, I feel like the engagement, the involvement, and the interaction with the content actually grew many folds.

And that was very rewarding for me to see the amount of people's DMS, you know, the length of the comments, I think itself just speaks volumes as to how much people have enjoyed it, and how much they shared it. And I think if you compare it to, you know, long episodes, three-minute and longer episodes on Instagram, and the engagement that it can get, I think it has done really well for itself, given the length of those episodes. So, I am so I'm extremely happy, actually, I did feel pressured to answer your question.

But I think at the end of the day, sometimes you have to keep that pressure aside and stop thinking about numbers and really let the story talk for itself. And yeah, we tried that.
