Indian comedian Vir Das couldn't resist adding a touch of humor to the recent comments made by Infosys founder N R Narayana Murthy about the '70 hours a week' work culture. In response to Murthy's statement, Vir Das took to X (Formerly known as Twitter) and wittily remarked, "Life's hard. You meet a girl, fall in love, get married. Her dad wants you to work 70 hours a week. You can't work that hard, you just wanna chill and run England."

In another post, Vir Das playfully pointed out the rigorous schedule, saying, "If you're working 70 hours a week, 5 days a week, essentially from 9 am to 11 pm, you should be allowed to fart in your boss's office. If you're going to request a relationship-like time commitment, you've got to accept the intimacy too."

The comedian's posts followed Narayana Murthy's discussion on the need for India to enhance work productivity. Murthy stressed the importance of India's youth committing to longer working hours to keep up with nations that have witnessed remarkable economic growth.

Narayana Murthy's statement naturally ignited a flurry of reactions on social media. Some criticized it, equating the concept of a 70-hour work week to modern 'slave culture.' However, others defended Murthy, suggesting that he may have been misinterpreted, with the focus being on instilling a strong work ethic rather than advocating excessive hours.

Vir Das's lighthearted take on the matter added an element of humor to the conversation.
