As we become older, our parents' communication styles shift. Famous comedy content creator Anmol Chouhan recently posted an interesting yet realistic story about how her mother used to talk to her as a teenager and how it has changed now that she is in her 30s.

Mummy (Mother) in My Teenage Years

Anmol says, When I was in my teenage years, my mom was always focused on my studies and making sure I stayed away from distractions. She would say things like, "Pay attention to your studies, child. You know what your father's nature is like. Don't talk too much to boys. Focus on your studies, and if you do well, you will get a job. If you earn money, you'll be happy. Stay away from boys, no talking. Okay?"

Back then, it felt like my mom was constantly reminding me about the importance of education and staying focused on my future. She was concerned about everything — from my studies to my interactions with boys. Her advice came from a place of love, but sometimes it felt like I couldn't talk to anyone without her worrying.

Mummy (Mother) in My 30s

Fast forward to my 30s, and the conversations have completely changed. Now, my mom is focused more on my personal life than my studies. She often says things like, "How long will you continue studying, daughter? It's been so many years since you got your job. Now, you have to marry, right? Are you talking to any boy? Don't you have a boyfriend? Your father is so angry, daughter. He was saying, 'Everyone has gotten married except her.'"

Instead of telling me to stay away from boys, she's encouraging me to talk to them. And she wants me to find someone and settle down because it's like that's the next step in life. Anyway, it's quite funny how things have shifted. My father, who has always been worried that I was spending too much time with boys, now has some problems because I still haven't found the right one.

This video is a reminder that, despite how much we might have changed, our parents will always want the best for us—even if it's a little push in different directions at different stages of life.
