Adarsh Suyal, a popular comedy content creator, shares hilarious reasons why complaining to Indian parents just doesn't work. Here are some funny scenarios that show why it's better to keep your complaints to yourself.

1. The Food Debate

One day, Adarsh's mom asks him to eat. He jokingly complains, “Mom, why did you make roti with rajma? Roti goes with chawal!” But his mom quickly replies, “Son, this is the least I have got for you. We used to eat onion with roti and were still happy!” Adarsh realizes he can't argue with that. Even when he's joking, his mom always has a story from her past that puts things into perspective.

2. Traffic Troubles

After a long day, Adarsh tells his dad, “Dad, there was so much traffic today! I was so stressed!” His dad counters, “Your stress? When I came to Delhi, there were no metros or buses. I walked 40 kilometers every day just to find a job!” Adarsh, trying to lighten the mood, says, “Dad, it wasn't that hard!” But once again, he knows he can't win this argument.

3. Water Fetching

When his mom asks him to bring water from the kitchen, Adarsh replies, “Mom, you just walked past the kitchen. You could have grabbed it!” His mom responds, “Oh really? You find it hard just for this distance? We used to bring water from 10 kilometers away!” Adarsh quickly backtracks, “Okay, okay, I'll get it now.” He knows it's pointless to complain when his mom has stories that remind him of how easy he has it.

4. Bedtime Blame

One night, Adarsh goes to bed early. His dad notices and asks, “What happened? You look tired.” Adarsh explains, “I'm just tired from working all day, my back hurts.” But his dad interrupts, “Back pain? You know what we had to do!” Adarsh also interrupts and says, “Nothing happened, I'm good! I exercise!” He realizes that no matter what he says, his dad has a story from the past that makes his complaints feel small.

These funny exchanges highlight a common theme: Indian parents always have a story that reminds you how tough things used to be.
