Winter Special Man-Chow Soup Recipe
Ingredients:
- 2 tablespoons of oil
- 1 tablespoon of chopped garlic
- 1 teaspoon of ginger paste
- 1 teaspoon of green chilli paste
- 1/2 cup of chopped carrots
- 1/2 cup of chopped capsicum
- 1/2 cup of chopped onions
- 1 cup of chopped cabbage
- 1 tablespoon of red chilli sauce
- 1 tablespoon of green chilli sauce
- 2 tablespoons of soya sauce
- Salt to taste
- 1/2 teaspoon of black pepper powder
- 4 cups of water
- 2 tablespoons of corn flour mixed with water to make a slurry
- Crispy noodles for garnish
Manchow Soup: Instructions to Prepare
- Heat 2 tablespoons of oil in a large soup pot over medium heat.
- Add 1 tablespoon of chopped garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Stir in 1 teaspoon of ginger paste and 1 teaspoon of green chilli paste. Sauté for another 30 seconds.
- Add 1/2 cup of chopped carrots, 1/2 cup of chopped capsicum, 1/2 cup of chopped onions, and 1 cup of chopped cabbage to the pot. Stir-fry the vegetables for about 2-3 minutes until they start to soften.
- Pour in 1 tablespoon of red chilli sauce, 1 tablespoon of green chilli sauce, and 2 tablespoons of soya sauce. Mix well to coat the vegetables evenly.
- Season with salt to taste and add 1/2 teaspoon of black pepper powder for some extra flavor.
- Now, add 4 cups of water to the pot. Stir and bring the soup to a boil.
- In a separate bowl, make a slurry by mixing 2 tablespoons of corn flour with some water until smooth.
- Gradually pour the corn flour slurry into the soup while stirring continuously. This will help thicken the soup to your desired consistency.
- Let the soup simmer for about 5-7 minutes or until it reaches a thick and velvety texture.
- Taste and adjust the seasoning, adding more salt or pepper if needed.
- Once the soup is ready, ladle it into serving bowls.
- Garnish with crispy noodles on top for that perfect crunch.
