We have different memories of our childhood. From eating tangy & sour candies to enjoying aam papad. Today we are going to relish those memories with an interesting and easiest recipe of aam papad shared by Shivesh Bhatia. In his, #SweetSummerTreats, a series where he brings delicious dessert recipes. He has given simple methods to make every kid's favorite Aam Papad. Super easy to make, this recipe requires only 4 ingredients and is sure to take your love for mangoes to the next level.
Here are the main ingredients needed for this recipe:
- 2 cups mango puree
- 2 tbsp jaggery powder
- 1 tsp black salt
- 1 tsp chaat masala
Method:
- Take mango puree in a nonstick pan and add jaggery powder, black salt, and chaat masala to it.
- Cook on medium-low for about 15-20 mins heat or until the mixture thickens. The mixture will splutter at this stage so be careful. You can even put a lid on if the mixture splutters too much.
- If the mixture coats the back of the spoon or spatula and a line traced in the middle of it remains visible and doesn't merge, that means it has reached the desired consistency.
- Now, take the mixture off the heat and spread evenly on a greased dish. I used an 8X8 inch aluminum mold and greased it with ghee. You can also use a plate and grease it with any neutral oil too. The thickness of the mixture should ideally be 1/4th of an inch.
- Cover the mixture with a cloth and dry it under the sun for at least 2 days.
- Once the aam papad has dried, escape the corner carefully with a knife and peel the aam papad out of the pan. Cut into equal-sized strips and roll them further. Store in an airtight container for up to 1 week.
Try this recipe at your own risk because it's very addictive and you will not be able to forget its delicious taste.
