Ingredients needed for Alsi ke Ladoo

  • 2 cups flax seeds (alsi ke beej)
  • 2 cups fox seeds (makhana)
  • 1/2 cup almonds (badam)
  • 1/2 cup cashew nuts (kaju)
  • 1/4 cup edible gum (gond)
  • 1 cup dried coconut (sukha nariyal)
  • 2 tbsp pumpkin seeds (kaddubke beej)
  • 700gm dates (khajoor)
  • 1 tsp cardamom powder (ilaichi )
  • 2 tsp pistachios (pista)
  • 1/2 cup clarified butter (ghee)

Alsi ke Ladoo Recipe Preparation

Roast the Seeds and Nuts:

  • In a pan, dry roast the flax seeds and fox seeds separately until they turn slightly golden. Keep them aside.
  • Similarly, dry roast almonds, cashew nuts, and pumpkin seeds. Once done, let them cool and then coarsely grind them in a mixer.

Prepare the Edible Gum:

  • Heat a little ghee in a pan and fry the edible gum until it puffs up. Remove and crush it into smaller pieces once cooled.

Preparing the Laddu Mixture:

  • In the same pan, add the remaining ghee. Finely chop the dates and add them to the pan. Cook until they turn soft.
  • Add the roasted seeds, nuts mixture, puffed edible gum, dried coconut, and cardamom powder to the dates. Mix well until everything is combined.

Shape the Laddus:

  • Once the mixture is warm enough to handle, grease your hands with a little ghee and start shaping the mixture into laddus.
  • Garnish each laddu with a sprinkle of crushed pistachios.

Cool and Serve:

  • Let the laddus cool down completely before serving. Store them in an airtight container for prolonged freshness.
