a) Begin by melting 1 tablespoon of ghee in a saucepan. Toast 1 cup of shredded coconut in a skillet.

b) Stir in 1/4 cup jaggery and 1/4 teaspoon cardamom to the coconut mixture. Cook until the jaggery has melted and the mixture is thoroughly mixed.

c) Soak 1/4 cup barnyard or small millet (or other millet to your choice) for 2 hours for the millet coating. Grind it with 2 tbsp Poha and a little water to get a fine batter with an excellent consistency.

d) Spread the millet mixture thinly over a turmeric or banana leaf with a little ghee.

e) Place the coconut-jaggery filling on top of the millet mixture, fold it over, and gently press to seal.

f) Place the prepared Patoli in a steamer and steam for about 10 minutes, or until it's perfectly cooked.
