Ingredients

For the Naan Dough:

  • 1/2 cup warm water
  • 1 teaspoon active dry yeast
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour (plus extra for dusting)

For the Pizza Filling:

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2-3 cloves garlic, finely chopped
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 1/2 cup tomato puree
  • 1/2 teaspoon mixed herbs (oregano, thyme, basil)
  • 1/4 teaspoon chili flakes (adjust to taste)
  • 1/2 teaspoon sugar
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons fresh basil, chopped
  • 1/2 cup mozzarella cheese, grated
  • 2-3 tablespoons chopped olives (optional)

Method

1. Prepare the Dough:

  • Mix warm water, yeast and sugar. Let it sit for 5-10 minutes until frothy.
  • In a separate bowl, mix together the flour, salt, and baking powder. Add the yeast mixture and knead until you have a soft dough.
  • Cover the dough and let it rest for an hour.

2. Make the Filling:

  • Heat the olive oil in a frying pan and add the garlic and onions. Fry until soft and pink.
  • Add tomato puree, mixed vegetables, chili flakes, sugar, salt and pepper. Cook until the mixture thickens.
  • Add fresh basil, then let the mixture cool. Then, mix in grated mozzarella and chopped olives.

3. Assemble the Naan Bomb:

  • Divide the dough into small balls. Flatten each ball and add a teaspoon of the filling. Seal the dough tightly to hold the filling.

4. Cooking:

  • In a skillet: cook over medium heat until golden brown on all sides.
  • Bake: Bake at 180°C (350°F) for 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
  • Steam: Steam for 10-12 minutes.
