Healthy Chana Tikki Chaat: You Can Try on Your Cheat Day

Meghna Kamdar is a popular food influencer. She has recently shared a very interesting recipe of high protein kala chana tikki chaat. Made with high-protein kala Chana, this tikki can be enjoyed in various forms. You can add your favorite veggies to create a wholesome meal or turn it into a satisfying chaat as shown in the video.
Here is the detailed method mentioned below:
To make Tikki:-
- Soak 1 cup Kala Chana overnight
- Pressure cook on medium heat for up to 5-6 whistles
- Coarsely mash boiled chana
- Add 1 medium-boiled Potato
- Add 2 finely chopped Green Chillies
- Add 1 small finely chopped Ginger Knob
- Add finely chopped Coriander Leaves
- Add 1 medium size finely chopped Onion (optional)
- Add Red Chilli Powder (as per taste)
- Add 1 tsp Coriander Powder (Dhaniya Powder)
- Add 1/2 tsp Garam Masala
- Add 1/2 tsp Turmeric Powder (Haldi)
- Add Salt as per taste
- Add 1.5 tbs Breadcrumbs (can use oats powder alternatively)
- Combine everything well together
- Make round tikkis from this mixture
- Heat Oil in a pan
- Place all tikkis on it
- Flip and cook all tikkis from both sides until golden brown
- (Serve them as it is with green chutney) or
- Place tikkis on a serving plate
- Add Beaten Curd, Tikhi Chutney, Mithi Chutney, Sev and Pomegranate Seeds & special masala
This is the recipe for masala ->
- Dry roast 2 tbs whole coriander, 1 tbs cumin seeds, 10-12 peppercorns, 4-5 red whole dry red Kashmiri chilies.
- Turn off the heat & add a pinch of asafoetida, black salt & regular salt
- Coarsely grind it.
