As Ganesh Chaturthi approaches, now's a good time to start cooking some tasty dishes to celebrate the event. Well-known food blogger Nidhi Parmar has offered an easy and nutritious Churma Ladoo recipe that's ideal for the upcoming Ganesh Chaturthi. These treats consist of wheat flour, jaggery, ghee, and cardamom, which makes them both nourishing and yummy.

Ingredients:

For Bhakhri:

  • 2 cups Bhakhri flour (you can also use 1 & 3/4 cup atta + 1/4 cup suji)
  • 1/4 cup Ghee
  • 1/2 cup water

For Churma:

  • 1/2 cup Jaggery (You can adjust the quantity based on your preferred sweetness)
  • 1/3 cup Ghee
  • A handful of mixed dry fruits (e.g., almonds, cashews), chopped
  • 1 tsp Cardamom powder

Instruction

1. To make the Bhakhri:

  • Mix Bhakhri flour and 1/4 cup of ghee in a bowl.
  • Add water bit by bit as you knead. You want to end up with a firm dough that sticks together but isn't too soft.
  • Break off small chunks of dough. Roll each into a flat mini roti-like disc.
  • Put a griddle or tawa on medium heat. Cook the Bhakhris until they turn golden brown on each side. To make them crispy, you can brush a little ghee on both sides while they cook. Once done, let the Bhakhris cool down.

2. Making Churma:

  • After the Bhakhris cool down, break them into tiny bits and grind them into a rough powder with a food processor or grinder.
  • Put the mixture through a sieve with medium-sized holes and set the churma aside

3. Making Jaggery Syrup:

  • In another pan, warm up 1/3 cup of ghee on low heat and put jaggery in it.
  • Wait for the jaggery to melt. Don't cook it longer or the laddu will become hard.
  • Now add cardamom powder and dry fruits
  • Pour this mixture over the Bhakhri churma we made earlier.
  • Stir until everything blends well.

4. Making Ladoos:

  • When the mixture is hot, take a small portion and roll it between your fingers and shape it into a round ladoos.
  • Continue this process till all the Churma Ladoos are done.
  • Cool the ladoos completely before storing them in an airtight container. The colder they are, the stronger they will become.

Enjoy these delicious and healthy Churma Ladoos with your family and friends during Ganesh Chaturthi!
