Every festival is about sharing, and people celebrate it by eating food. We must try our best to be considerate of the people around us with every bite we take. Thus, the choice of food during the festivities will attract the most positive reactions from our friends and family. Every year, they should make an effort to make the holiday more special with the help of food that is both easy to cook and economical. Famous food influencer and social media personality Aishwarya Sonvane provides a guide to the delicious food of Shahi Rolls, the dish that grants the ease of home cooking with rich taste and a dash of royal luxury. These tasty rolls are truly a cent that can be made using common household items or may even signal the food that you will be excited to share with others.
Ingredients:
- Bread
- Desiccated coconut (or any coconut)
- Chopped almonds
- Maida (all-purpose flour)
- Ghee
- Sugar syrup
Method:
Prepare the Bread:
Take some loaves of bread and smoothly cut all four angles from each. Get a rolling pin (belan) and press it down to repel the loaf to a flat, unvaried shape. This step is essential for ensuring that your rolls don't unwelcomely lose their shape or happen to be so rubbery.
Make the Stuffing:
- By using a mixing bowl, you should include some dried coconut and a handful of dry fruits you have such as—almonds, cashews, and pistachios, that blend in perfectly with the mixture.
- Add a sufficient amount of condensed milk. To make it so the spice is evenly distributed, better mix the condensed milk with the rest of the ingredients.
Assemble the Rolls:
A sheet of bread is gently unfolded and the stuffing is placed in the middle. After carefully wrapping the bread around it, ensure that the edges are firmly sealed. To seal the roll, a mixture of maida and water should be used which ensures that the filling is kept inside safely during the cooking stage.
Shallow Frying:
- First of all, you have to heat a small quantity of ghee in a pan until it melts and it turns out to have a desirable scent.
- Shallow fry the rolls in the ghee until they become golden brown and crisp on all sides, making sure to turn them once in a while.
- The taste of ghee is through richness introducing rolls into the dough and the brightness due to the golden dilution of the content.
Soak in Sugar Syrup:
- To make sugar syrup, simply take the same amount of water as sugar.
- Microwave it for 1 minute and take the seeds out to infuse the syrup with aromatic flavors.
- Once the syrup has thickened slightly, dip the fried rolls in it for 3-4 minutes. Allow them to absorb the sweetness.
Final Touch:
It's time to serve these rolls after having them soaked in a sugar bath. You can also sprinkle a little bit of additional sweetener on top of the product to make it more indulgent if you want to.
