Ingredients You'll Need
To make this flavorful Sabudana Soup, you'll need:
- 1/4 cup peanuts
- 8-10 cashews
- 3-4 tbsp ghee
- 1 cup makhana
- 1 tbsp jeera (cumin seeds)
- 1 tsp peppercorns
- 1 potato, cut into cubes
- 12-15 curry leaves
- 2 green chillies, finely chopped
- 1 tomato, finely chopped
- 1 cup sabudana, washed & soaked
- Handful of coriander leaves, finely chopped
- Sendha namak (rock salt) to taste
Step-by-Step Method to Make Sabudana Soup
Start by heating ghee in a pan. Fry the peanuts and cashews until they are slightly browned, then remove and fry the makhana until crispy. Set them aside. Next, fry the potato cubes until golden and set them aside as well.
In the same pan, make a fine powder of jeera and peppercorns and add it to the ghee along with curry leaves, green chillies, and chopped tomatoes. Cook until the tomatoes soften. Add the fried potatoes, soaked sabudana, and cook for a minute. Then, add water and let it cook until the sabudana becomes soft. Season with sendha namak to taste.
To finish, garnish with the roasted makhana, dry fruits, and freshly chopped coriander leaves. Serve the soup hot and enjoy this flavorful, wholesome dish.
