MasterChef Australia season 15, now available for streaming on Disney+ Hotstar, has taken viewers on a whirlwind journey filled with surprises and culinary marvels. With each passing episode, the competition intensifies, and the top 10 contestants showcase their exceptional skills and techniques. Indian-Origin chef Adi Nevgi has consistently captivated the judges' hearts with her mouth-watering creations, particularly in Indian delicacies.

In a recent mystery box challenge that pushed the boundaries of creativity, the 31-year-old culinary maestro decided to take on their favourite Indian street food, Pani Puri, with a Mexican twist. Adi Nevgi was excited, saying, "I'm making Pani Puri, an Indian street snack. The normal dish is this little pillow of inflated dough, hollow in the middle. Then you fill it up with potato and lots of spices. Today, I'm going to fill it with surprising flavours — salmon roe and avocado. Surprising them (judges) with what's inside of it so that when they bite into it, they're like, 'Oh! Didn't expect that.'"

Love for Pani Puri

Adi Nevgi's love for Pani Puri shines through as she proclaims, "I love Pani Puri. I think it is one of the best Indian street foods." Her creation turned out to be an instant hit among the judges, who were thoroughly impressed by the fusion of flavours in her unique dish.

Taking Her Experimentation to Social Media

However, Adi Nevgi's culinary adventures didn't end there. Taking her experimentation to social media, she shared her desire to try out more innovative variations of Pani Puri. She mentioned her plans for Taiwanese Pani Puri inspired by bubble tea, Dessert Pani Puri dipped in chocolate milk, and Dance Floor Pani Puri infused with a shot of vodka. While she acknowledges the perfection of the original, Adi Nevgi is determined to push the boundaries and explore endless possibilities.

Adi Nevgi's Passion for Indian Cuisine

Adi Nevgi's passion for Indian cuisine has always been evident throughout the competition. She received praise previously for her spicy and aromatic Maharashtrian Squid Curry and delectable Butter Chicken. Despite extensive travels to over 55 countries, Adi Nevgi finds inspiration in flavours worldwide while cherishing her ancestral Indian culinary roots. Her background as a doctor specializing in general medicine and endocrinology has provided her with a unique perspective on food, deepening her understanding and fueling her creativity in the scientific aspects of cooking.
