  • Why you crash after lunch?

Dietitian Shweta J Panchal says many people feel very sleepy, low on energy, or even irritated after lunch. One of her clients told her the same thing. When she asked him what he eats for lunch, she quickly understood the reason. Many people feel this way, and even in offices, people say, “Get your work done before lunch” because after lunch, energy levels drop. But this can change with a few simple tips.

1. Add One Teaspoon of Ghee to Your Lunch

Shweta says, just add 1 teaspoon of ghee to your lunch. You can put it on your roti or mix it with rice. Some people worry that they already eat a lot of fats in their meals. But Shweta suggests you can reduce the oil you use in your sabzi and dal. Try cooking them in water. What's important is to have that 1 tsp of ghee in your lunch. It helps avoid sugar spikes and stops that energy crash.

2. Reduce the Amount of Starchy Food

Don't fully avoid starchy foods like rice, potatoes, pasta, or noodles, but try to eat less of them. Instead, always add a source of protein to your meal like dal, paneer, or eggs. And one more thing: always start your lunch with a salad. This is a must. Salad helps with digestion and keeps you full longer.

3. Check Your Vitamin D3 and B12 Levels

Low B12 or D3 can also make you feel tired. Even if you eat good food, if your B12 is low, your body cannot turn food into energy. If your B12 is low, take a good supplement. Non-vegetarians can manage with food, but for vegetarians, it's harder. So supplements help and you will see better energy fast.

Stay active and fresh after lunch

Making these small changes can stop that lazy feeling after lunch. Better food = better energy.
