After recently winning the ‘Fit Mom Influencer of the Year' award – content creator Deeksha Mishra in on cloud nine and has a newly found mission – to empower fellow moms about fitness. However, she confesses that she is a “very hands-on” mommy in real life.

“So the general perception is that I am this hot, glamorous mommy who is doing various shoots and hosting events but in reality I am a very regular, typical, helicopter kind of mum at home. I am just too involved with what my kids do. The books they read, the shows they watch on TV. It's very important for moms to be involved with their kids. You can easily find me snooping over my children in their extra-curricular classes! So yes, in that sense you can call me a fussy mom,” reveals Deeksha.

Deeksha is a lifestyle influencer who has promoted multiple prestigious brands. She has also shot for popular designers and walked the ramp a number of times. She is a mom of two boys and believes motherhood is priority even if she has a packed day with shoots and event commitments. She makes it “a point to balance things and prioritize.”

“I am a very particular mother when it comes to their nutrition. I follow the same principal that I follow for myself. I like them to have clean meals, lots of protein and nutritious food but in between I allow little bit of junk too. A good nutrition routine makes and breaks the foundation,” shares Deeksha.

With summer holidays and kids at home, Deeksha is having a roller coaster time with her two kiddos but she shares something important for all parents. “While I love to have fun with my children, I am also very particular about routine – waking up, eating and sleeping on time. These are so vital while raising a child. Discipline is the key,” she says.

Deeksha feels her parenting style is old school where she has picked little bit of everything from every generation. She believes, “I do not want to blindly follow new age concepts. I do not read parenting books. It's very instinctive for me. I know what will work for my child or not work. I am very adaptive to the needs of the situation.”

Coming to her fitness motivation, Deeksha loves to post stories about her gym visits and inspire her audience and fellow mommies to follow a health routine. She says: “For me, fitness is in my DNA. I have to follow a workout routine, healthy eating and fit lifestyle for a mindful and happy living. I don't give into craving too easily.”

Some mantras I swear by are…

  1.  Keep it simple and basic
  2.  No harsh restrictive diet
  3.  Follow the 80/20 rule
  4.  Be consistent
