Health expert Dimple Jangda explains that PCOS, PCOD, infertility, gynecological disorders, gastrointestinal disease, depression, neurological problems, skin diseases, and bone-related conditions all begin with poor colon health. Research by Harvard, Stanford, and other universities supports this claim and says that constipation is often the first symptom of an unhealthy colon.
How to Improve Colon Health?
Bael Fruit (Wood Apple): Bael fruit is a natural laxative. Taking it for 2 to 3 months can help relieve constipation and clear the intestines.
Pear Fruit: Pears are a fine cure for constipation due to their richness in fiber.
Warm Lemon Salt Water: Drinking warm water with lemon juice and half a teaspoon of salt increases hydration and helps detox the system. Salt retains moisture, which assists digestion.
Grapes: Grapes are a powerful blend of cellulose, sugar, and organic acids that function as a natural laxative and help purify the colon.
Foods to Avoid: Avoid raw bananas, jackfruit, and apples if constipation is experienced. These fruits cause binding, which is useful when experiencing diarrhea but aggravates constipation. For this, eat stewed apples.
Hydration and Fasting: Drink water all day. Fasting on fruits for a week or a day can cleanse the body. To avoid sugar peaks, combine fruits with a handful of nuts.
Increase Roughage Intake: Take a minimum of two servings of fruits and three servings of boiled or steamed vegetables a day. This aids in peristalsis (food movement downward in the intestines) and detoxifies.
