Scams in Ticket Reselling

The first scam involves ticket reselling websites. These sites sell tickets that can cost around Rs 5,000 with prices ranging from Rs 50,000 or even up to Rs 3 lakh! Doing this is completely illegal in India. Many fans are tricked into paying more than the actual ticket price, leaving them frustrated and out of pocket.

Fake Ticket Websites

The second scam involves fake websites claiming to be selling tickets worth Rs 25,000. But, these sites do not have any real tickets. They take your money and disappear when you try to reach them. This is a common way used by scammers to deceive people.

Reporting Cybercrime

If you fall victim to this type of financial scam, you can report it. In India, you can call the helpline number 1930 to file cybercrime complaints. To file a complaint:

  • Call 1930: Provide name, mobile number, address, and details of the transaction.
  • Receive Acknowledgment: You will get an acknowledgment number via SMS.
  • File a formal complaint: Use the acknowledgment number to file a complaint online within 24 hours.
