Pregnancy is a critical and dedicated journey for a mother. In which proper nutrition is essential not only for the health and well-being of the mother but also for the development of the growing baby. And it becomes very important to choose the perfect diet or food to prevent bad health issues in the future. Juhi Kapoor, a well-known nutritionist, shares a list of those foods that you should avoid during pregnancy.

Here are Seven Foods That You Should Avoid During Pregnancy:

Papaya: Raw or semi-ripe papaya contains an elastic substance and an enzyme called papain, which can cause the decline of the uterus and potentially lead to miscarriage or premature labor. Ripe papaya is considered safer to consume properly.

Pineapple: Pineapple contains bromelain, an enzyme that can also cause softening of the cape and lead to contractions. Bromelain is found in higher application in the trunk and middle of the pineapple.

Unpasteurized milk and soft cheeses: Organic dairy products may contain harmful bacteria like listeria, which can cause listeriosis.

Some studies suggest that too much MSG consumption may have neurotoxic effects on the developing fetal brain and has been linked to an increased risk of obesity and metabolic disorders in offspring.

Large amounts of caffeine: Excessive caffeine intake (over 200-300 mg per day) has been related to an increased risk of miscarriage and low birth weight.

Alcohol: There is no known safe amount of alcohol during pregnancy, as it can cause birth defects and developmental problems.

Raw Sprouts: They may harbor infectious diarrhea bacteria. Also, these are hard to digest, which causes bloating and discomfort.

By identifying the right choice of diet or food you can protect yourself and your coming baby. But as you know it is very important to remember that every woman's journey is different, so it becomes very crucial to consult with a doctor at once.
